We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category Aprison located in London.
HMP Belmarsh are is a maximum security based in London with a capacity for around 800. We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant who will provide high-quality clinical and Non-Clinical support. The post holder will support the delivery of primary care, physical health, mental health, and learning disability services, ensuring care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with NHS standards, prison security requirements, and professional boundaries.
Hours
Service is days per week - You will work on a rota basis to include weekdays and weekends.
0700 - 1900
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 32,134 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
• Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

• NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
