KCHFT is collaborating with East Kent Hospitals University Trust to develop a virtual ward for people with acute respiratory infections or conditions like COPD. Patients discharged early will be monitored at home via remote technology, such as apps, wearables, and medical devices, with support from consultants, specialist GPs, and advanced practitioners. The specific technology is still being developed with patient and colleague input.
