We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at Derwentside IRC (Immigration Removal Centre), based just outside of Consett, County Durham.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. This role offers excellent developmental opportunities and is a great environment to build on your experience within the primary care service.

Hours:
This is a part time role, 22.5 hours per week, between Monday and Sunday, including days and nights.
Salary:
This position is part time , you'll receive an annual salary of between 24,669 - 28,690 (FTE, this will be pro rata'd for the part time hours) - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
Working within the primary care team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service
Assist with clinical observations, vaccination clinics etc
Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite
Support the mental health and substance misuse teams as necessary
Assist with release and discharge when needed

Our new Healthcare Assistant will: Hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent - a Level 3 would be a bonus!
Have experience in a care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting

Any experience of working with vulnerable adults would be beneficial
