Title: Healthcare Assistant Planned Services

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 point 2 \xc2\xa322,383 per annum, pro rata, plus enhancements.

Hours: Permanent Full Time, Part Time Nights

Based: South Warwickshire Area, to include Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford Upon Avon and surrounding villages

We are looking for someone to join our team to give excellent individualised care to our patients across the South Warwickshire region. This is a community role, you must have a full driving licence, own a car and live with in Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford Upon Avon and surrounding villages.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will deliver care and support patients with terminal illnesses whilst also offering vital emotional support for their families. The successful candidate will work individually without close supervision, you\'ll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient\'s established care plan. With a passion for palliative care you will make a difference for those patients who have life limiting illnesses and for those who are nearing end of life. You\'ll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal skills with experience of utilising initiative and autonomy whilst delivering person centred care. Essential experience of working within a healthcare setting, qualification NVQ level 2 and/ or care certificate is required along with a full driving licence and use of your own vehicle.

What we are looking for:

  • S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent care certificate/diploma is desirable
  • Interpersonal/Communication skills
  • Emotional strength, patience, and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support.
  • End-of-life care experience is advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided and opportunity to learn on the job

41% x your basic salary per hour paid for Saturdays & weekday night duty (8pm to 6am)
83% x your basic salary per hour paid for Sundays and Public Bank Holidays
