Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our friendly Cardiac Investigations team at Worthing Hospital as a Healthcare Science Practitioner (Cardiology). We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated applicants wanting to further their training and experience in all areas of Cardiac Physiology with a view for progression and helping to shape our workforce for the future.
Main duties of the job
To assist in delivery of a high quality Cardiac Investigations service to inpatients and outpatients of University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust - Worthing Hospital.
To include:-

  • Working towards becoming an independent Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Science Practitioner within a wide range of investigations including echocardiography, pacemaker, ICD and complex device interrogation and follow-up with supervision; training and assisting in PPM/ICD/CRT device implant procedures; assisting in all invasive investigations in the Cardiac Catheter Lab and assisting in providing comprehensive reports; Working towards leading in Exercise Tolerance Testing as well as undertaking Holter analysis and reporting
  • Organising and managing own workload
  • Being conversant with Cardiac Arrest protocol
  • Assisting in the supervision and training of other staff and healthcare professionals where required
  • Providing a role model for the Trust's values, Patient First approach, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and inclusive leadership
