About the team we are recruiting to
This is a team which puts people and communities at the heart of Public Health. We are leading change for and more importantly with community groups, voluntary organisations and people.
We work across the entire health and social care system to find and create new and exciting ways for the voluntary and community sector to be involved at all levels in services.
This can include by simply giving up their time to give their views on services right through to being actively involved in delivering community interventions such as a diabetes support group to support people.
What is the job role?
18 month fixed term contract/secondment.
This is a new and exciting role, its working right at the heart of communities to create new complimentary and additional services which compliment those provided by the health and social care system. The role will also establish a micro granting/investing system to enable these new ideas/community provision to establish.
The role will advise and support service leaders in the health and social care system on how to work alongside community organisations and volunteers.
Who are we looking for?
Someone with a background in working with or within the voluntary and community sector, who has an in-depth knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in the voluntary and community sector.
Someone who can understand and work within both the public and voluntary sector and bring the two together.
Someone who is enthusiastic and flexible and always able to find common ground and work through problems/barriers which present when creating new and untested ways of supporting people with their health and well-being.
This is a fixed-term role for 18 months due to it being externally funded.

Experience designing and delivering small grant schemes/micro grants
Experience of partnership working, including complicated multi-agency/sector arrangements involving multiple organisations
Experience in evaluating projects and programmes
