Healthy Minds have a vision: to provide the best support possible, that is easily accessible and available for children and young people (CYP) across Bradford & Craven District.
To help us achieve this and ensure we understand the expressed needs of children & young people across the Bradford & Craven district, we are looking to recruit five Apprentices to work alongside our leaders and decision makers to ensure the involvement and voice of young people is heard, supported and understood to enable needs to be better met across the district.
Your Role
As part of your role, you will be relied upon to:
Act responsibly and maturely as a role model and ambassador, raising awareness of mental health by helping and encouraging the active participation and involvement of other young people.
Support and develop youth & community work across the district's diverse communities
Be a voice and advocate for young people's physical and mental health, special educational needs and disabilities by attending CYP Board meetings, focus groups, peer to peer groups; deliberating and influencing decision makers on how best to support children and young people.
. Work in partnership and collaboration with other partners and key stakeholders across the district who support young people, this includes working as part of a team with your peers and colleagues.
. Be confident, assertive and creative - to help young people across the district express themselves.
Engage with schools, community centres, community projects, organisations and agencies across the district who support young people's personal, social, and educational development.
Plan and deliver youth-led campaigns, programmes and events that promote public health messages on key issues such as bullying, mental health, cultural awareness and other topics relevant to young people, aiming to educate, empower and support positive wellbeing.
. Keep a creative blog and portfolio of your experiences, training and achievements.
. Contribute towards media resources, such as website, radio and social media stories; creatively and constructively.
Additional and Miscellaneous:
In addition to the duties above, the post holder will be required to perform duties which will be assigned from time to time. These duties will be reasonable in relation the individual's skills and pay grade. These duties may include some evening and weekend work i.e. attending meetings and events, where you will represent the Healthy Minds team. When this is required, your working week will reflect this and time in lieu will be given.

You will receive line management from our experienced team which includes our Apprentice Co-ordinator, who will offer support and guidance throughout your Apprenticeship and is responsible for your daily scheduling.

Gain knowledge and understanding by undertaking additional off the job training and placements in specialist wellbeing areas.
Be a positive role model in your area - meet interesting and diverse people in the community, engaging with young people, schools, colleges, mental health services and commissioners across the district.

Requirements for the post:
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about improving the lives of CYP across the Bradford & Craven District and who are passionate about supporting our communities to contribute also.
No previous experience is necessary for this role as training will be provided, all we ask is that all applicants.
Live in the Bradford or surrounding areas with a Bradford postcode
Between 16-24 years of age.
Be enthusiastic, punctual, confident, friendly, reliable, with good communications skills
Be prepared to work hard, study and attend meetings, workshops and events out of hours
