About the Role:

Rendesco is seeking a motivated, skilled Senior Installation Engineer to join our growing engineering team during an exciting period of expansion. As a Senior Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading installation projects and supporting junior team members. You will oversee the installation of low-carbon heating systems, including heat pumps, Heat Interface Units (HIUs), and a variety of pipework solutions. You'll ensure that each project is completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards, contributing directly to Rendesco's mission to deliver sustainable heating solutions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation of Heat Pump Systems
: Lead the installation and integration of heat pump units in both large-scale pump rooms, plant rooms, energy centres, and residential properties, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Installation of Heat Interface Units (HIUs)
: Fit HIUs in residential settings, ensuring seamless connection to centralised heating systems for optimal heating and hot water supply.
Pipefitting
: Install and secure pipework for heating, cooling, and hot water distribution systems, ensuring efficiency and adherence to operational standards.
Fusion Weld Pipework Installation
: Perform fusion welding to connect pipework at ground level, ensuring robust and leak-proof connections for heating and cooling fluids.
Pre-Insulated Pipework (PIP) Installation
: Manage and coordinate the installation of pre-insulated pipework for outdoor and underground heating systems, focusing on long-term reliability and efficiency.
Basic Electrical Work
: Carry out essential electrical tasks related to heat pump systems, such as wiring and connecting control panels, ensuring proper integration of all components.
Fault-Finding & Problem-Solving
: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and resolve any issues that arise with heating systems, ensuring systems perform optimally.
Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC)
: Take ownership of inspections and quality control checks, ensuring installations meet both Rendesco and customer standards.
About you:
Education
: Engineering or Plumbing Qualification (NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 or equivalent), with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Experience & Skills
:
Proven hands-on experience in plumbing and/or pipefitting, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain heating systems.
Solid understanding of hydraulic systems, including flow and pressure principles.
Experience with renewable energy systems, particularly heat pumps, district heating networks, and domestic energy installations.
A strong track record of adhering to regulations and guidelines for hot water systems, such as UK Building Regulations Part G.
Leadership experience, with the ability to supervise and support junior team members, providing technical guidance and promoting a collaborative working environment.
