Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heating Engineer /plumber for Renewable Energy to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems, boilers, across a variety of commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Heating Engineer will ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations, delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Duties



Installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems including boilers, radiators, and associated pipework. Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out precise installations and repairs. Conducting routine inspections to identify faults or inefficiencies within heating systems. Performing plumbing tasks related to heating systems, including pipe fitting and soldering. Applying mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues and recommend appropriate solutions. Assisting with carpentry tasks when necessary for system installation or modification. Handling heavy lifting of equipment and materials safely during installation or repair processes. Operating commercial vehicles for transportation of equipment or parts as required. Assembling components and systems according to technical specifications and safety standards. Install, commission, service, and maintain air source heat pump systems Fault-find and diagnose system and performance issues Carry out system upgrades and optimisations Ensure installations comply with manufacturer specifications, MCS standards, and building regulations Complete commissioning documentation and handover reports Ensuring all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Deliver high-quality workmanship with attention to detail Maintain accurate job records and compliance paperwork Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and management Adhere to health & safety procedures at all times Represent the company in a professional manner on-site

Qualifications



Gas Safe registered Unvented hot water certification (G3) MCS accreditation experience Oil (OFTEC) qualification Experience with hybrid heating systems Customer service or site leadership experience Proven experience in heating system installation, maintenance, or repair. Proficiency with welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly tasks. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialised mechanical equipment effectively. Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of heating system components. Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical documentation. Experience with heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with the role. Valid driving licence for operating commercial vehicles is desirable. Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the trade. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards while delivering exceptional service to clients in a professional manner.

Essential Requirements



Level 3 qualification in Air Source Heat Pump installation and maintenance, gas safe & WRAS Minimum 5 years' proven experience in plumbing Strong experience in heating system installation and servicing Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills Sound knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards Full UK driving licence Ability to work independently and as part of a team Install, service, and maintain gas and/or oil boilers Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently Upgrade existing heating systems, including controls and pipework modifications Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and relevant standards

Plumbing Mechanical Works



Carry out general plumbing repairs and installations (hot/cold water systems, pipework, cylinders) Install and maintain unvented cylinders (where qualified) Identify and rectify leaks, pressure issues, and system inefficiencies Work on associated heating and plumbing components as required
