Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance and repair. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment, as well as a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring vehicles are safe and roadworthy.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake checks. Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively to troubleshoot problems. Assemble and disassemble vehicle parts as needed for repairs. Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about vehicle issues and repairs needed. Operate forklifts safely when moving vehicles or equipment within the workshop. Keep accurate records of all work performed on each vehicle.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose various vehicle issues effectively. Familiarity with electrical systems in vehicles is advantageous. Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs. Ability to solder components when necessary for electrical repairs. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. A valid driver's licence is required; additional qualifications in automotive engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential. Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies related to vehicle repair and maintenance.
