Ledwood are looking to recruit a full time permanent

Heavy Plant & Maintenance Technician

to be based at our Main Workshops in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, South Wales




The Role




To provide and manage the maintenance, inspection, repair and servicing of all owned plant, which includes the assistance from third party suppliers. To be able to interact with Ledwood management and supervision to incorporate an auditable system of above responsibilities, including statuary inspections (LOLER, MOT etc) and other such similar requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate and be a team player capable of liaising with other department personnel.



Be available on a call out basis outside of normal working hours to attend plant or site breakdowns.



A fully equipped garage/workshop with tools will be provided.



A good understanding of all aspects of hydraulics and basic electrics pertaining to heavy plant is required. Any additional experience to include the elementary repairing of portable electrical tooling and welding sets would be an advantage but not essential. Any additional trade related training would be provided as necessary.





Current plant listing includes but is not limited to:


DEMAG Mobile cranes (50t and 80t) Iron Fairy Yard cranes MEWP's Forklifts JCB telehandlers Various plant trailers Vehicles including vans, pick-ups, lorry, hiab lorry. Workshop Garage Equipment Stationary compressors Overhead workshop gantry cranes Workshop metal working tools and equipment (Guillotine, Punches, Drills etc) Shot Blasting and Painting facility including static compressors.

Job Specifics



As the position is to join the Ledwood team at our Main Workshop Facility , the hours of work will be 39 hours per week Monday to Friday.



The position will be start ASAP.



Upon satisfactory completion of the 3 month probationary period, the position will be permanent.





The rates of pay will be dependant on the candidates skills and experience.



No allowances paid for radius or travel & lodge.





The work scope will be in a Workshop environment, with outdoor working required as and when to suit the needs of the job tasks.


You may also be required to visit our site locations outside of Pembrokeshire/ South Wales, as and when the business needs require.
