You will be trained how to repair, service and MOT cutting edge technology trucks, buses and luxury coaches including hybrid. Working alongside a qualified Technician learning how to carry out repairs according to Volvo procedures in a safe and responsible manner Accompany Technicians on road tests Requirements and prospects
Qualifications Required GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above or equivalent Essential Skills Wales Qualifications. Skills Required The successful applicant will be confident, self-motivated, drive and enthusiastic to work as part of a team. You are required to have Maths and English at C or above, IT, craft subjects and physics would be preferrable however not mandatory. Having an interest in working in the automotive and engineering industries and an inquisitive nature and a desire to fix things are just as important as academic achievements Personal Qualities Having a real interest in the Motor Industry Willing to provide an excellent service to Volvo customers; The right attitude, determination and commitment A desire to succeed at college and in the workplace. Training to be Provided Block Release to Loughborough Remit Automotive to provide workbased Training JGR Training, Bridgend to carry out Essential Skills Wales if required Future Prospects Progression to a higher qualification. Other Information The Apprenticeship is a four-year programme where you will be working towards the Modern Apprenticeship Framework level 2 & 3 for Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. Your training is split between college and workplace, on the job training will be carried out in the workshop alongside your workplace mentor. College will typically be two-week block providing the opportunity to build relationships with your peers outside the workplace. During your apprenticeship you will build portfolios to record all your training, experience and skills gained throughout your apprenticeship.
