We are seeking an enthusiastic practitioner for the HENRY Healthy Families service in City & Hackney (0.6 FTE) delivering integrated services for parents and carers with children 0-5 years old. This includes groups, workshops, menu reviews, NHS Healthy Start vitamins, and community promotion and outreach.

The service office is based out of Linden Children's Centre 86-92 Rectory Road, N16 7SH, children centre sites across the community in City & Hackney and some remote delivery.

?The local service:

The HENRY service is commissioned by the City of London corporation and the London Borough of Hackney. The Healthy Families team delivers integrated child and family health services for families with children 0-5 years old which include parenting groups, workshops, menu analyses, NHS Healthy Start vitamins, training and community outreach. Our services are helping young children to flourish throughout the early years and beyond - with the long-term aim of reducing health inequalities.

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the HENRY Healthy Families services in City and Hackney. The role includes:

Building supportive and collaborative relationships with parents and carers in the community to understand their needs and promote the service Delivering groups and family workshops to build parents' confidence and encouraging a healthy and active family lifestyle Working in partnership with early years and health partners in the local communities Delivering local programmes and parent and carer prevention initiatives Promoting the NHS Healthy Start service for vitamins and healthy foods Undertaking menu analyses as a part of Healthy Early Years London initiatives Desire and familiarity with digital outreach and promotion tools and an eye for detail

The team:

You will be joining a vibrant and friendly small team which includes service manager, Healthy Families practitioners, community facilitators, sessional workers and a data and admin officer. We are all driven by a desire to create a mutually supportive and creative team, as well as providing the very best support for families.

Work base and travel:

The office base is Linden Children's Centre, 86-92 Rectory Road, London N16 7SH. Practitioners are required to be able to travel across the City and Hackney boroughs and its community settings. All of our team are on hybrid contracts, and there is some remote working, when appropriate for service delivery.

Hours:

Part time 0.6 FTE, ideally across 4 days (M-Th or T-Fri)

Job Purpose:

To support families in providing a healthy, happy start in life for babies and children. The HENRY practitioner role may comprise any or all of the following responsibilities. Additional role-specific information gives a more detailed description of individual posts.

Reach and engage diverse families

Participate in local public health events and campaigns to promote messages around babies' and children's health and wellbeing. Consult with local services, community groups and families to identify and understand diverse needs within the local population. Liaise with partners to reach families, creatively overcoming barriers to engage vulnerable and marginalised groups. Contribute to the development of resources, flyers and posters to promote key messages and HENRY support. Support and/or deliver outreach activities, workshops and drop-in sessions.

Deliver HENRY programmes and family support services to families

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local partners to arrange and coordinate programme delivery and support parent recruitment. Undertake detailed planning and preparation for programme delivery. Deliver or co-deliver structured HENRY group and 1-to-1 programmes, using strengths-based and solution-focused support to create the conditions for change. Debrief and share feedback with other facilitators at the end of each programme as part of a continuous system of practice development and quality improvement. Complete programme paperwork in a timely and organised manner. Follow safeguarding, lone working and health and safety policies to protect your own safety and the safety and wellbeing of children and families. Signpost families to other local services, including specialist services, in response to identified needs.

Train and support staff working with children and families

Contribute to the development of training materials and resources. Deliver training to staff in other organisations. Support and mentor champions and volunteers. Disseminate evidence-based guidelines and resources for use by practitioners working with children and families.

Ensure feedback, evaluation and monitoring information is gathered and recorded for all services. Accurately collect and enter relevant data. Contribute to the preparation of reports. Participate in service reviews to establish the effectiveness of support provided and identify areas for improvement. ?
