An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nationally IQILS accredited Hepatology Team. This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated individual prepared to play a key role in continuing and developing established multi-professional, evidence-based practices. This post requires a flexible practitioner who will form an important part of an active and award-winning department.
The successful applicant will work as a hepatology clinical nurse specialist within a variety of the hospital settings including inpatient areas, hepatology outpatient departments and community settings. They will work in collaboration with the hepatology consultant nurse, existing hepatology clinical nurse specialists and hepatology medical team to facilitate and deliver a nursing service to patients from primary, secondary and tertiary referral centres. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and time management skills.
The post holder should have an interest in developing their hepatology nursing skills and in return they will be supported in their professional development.

This post will encompass the assessment, treatment and appropriate referral to other departments (where applicable) of individuals with a variety of hepatology conditions. The Hepatology department recognises the importance of dealing with a changing disease trajectory for patients who may require treatment review and appropriate referral. The post holder will facilitate the delivery of planned treatment and ensure that care is delivered according to policies and procedures, both local and national.
They will facilitate the nursing needs of a caseload of patients with hepatology conditions for the South West Liver Unit
Provide education initiatives to staff, patients and carers and act as a professional resource to these groups
Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of evidence based care and contributing to service development within the South West Liver unit
Provide expert advice to nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team
Work within a multidisciplinary team
