Our match day 'Here to Help' team members are integral to ensuring that both home and away supporters have a positive and enjoyable visit to the John Smith's Stadium on our match days. First established for the 2018/19 season, this team of dedicated customer-facing assistants has grown and become essential to our match day experience. As we are now planning for the 2025/26 season, we welcome applications from candidates who would like to join this diverse, friendly, and supportive team and help us to continue to develop excellence in our match day activities and services.
We can offer both fixed term and casual employment opportunities in this role. A fixed term position requires a commitment to working every home fixture, whereas a casual engagement would be on an ad hoc basis according to the needs of each fixture. The hours of work would be:
3:00pm kick-off: 11:30am - 3:15pm (3.75 hours).
7:45pm kick-off: 5:00pm - 8:00pm (3 hours).
We are looking for candidates who appreciate the value and importance of outstanding customer service and who would like to be part of creating a friendly and special atmosphere for supporters. No previous experience is required; however, knowledge of the Club combined with excellent communication skills, a friendly and helpful approach to work, and the ability to work in a team are essential to this role. You must be confident to liaise with a diverse range of people in a consistently professional manner, also acting as a positive ambassador for Huddersfield Town AFC.
Applicants are encouraged to review the job description and person specification before applying, as these contain full details of what the role entails, and the specific skills, experience, qualifications, and attributes we are looking for.
We receive a high volume of applications for our vacancies and as such, we encourage you to ensure that your application details how you feel you match our requirements. The volume of applications received prevents us from being able to provide feedback at short-listing stage.
To apply, please create an account in our online application portal and ensure you complete the associated questions in full, giving appropriate examples to support your statements as far as possible.
Please also highlight any factors that you would like us to consider, for example, if you have a disability or health condition that may require us to make reasonable adjustments in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and other stakeholders to share this commitment. As this role is likely to involve the supervision of and work with children and young people or adults at risk, the successful candidate will require clearance to work in football and an Enhanced Criminal Records Check (CRC) through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Applicants must disclose all previous convictions including spent convictions in accordance with the associated legislation. The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered 'protected'. This means that they
do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.
Guidance about whether a conviction or caution should be disclosed can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
Equality and Inclusion
Huddersfield Town AFC is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where everyone can be themselves and in which everyone feels valued, included, and supported to achieve their full potential. We offer a range of family-friendly and inclusive employment arrangements, and we have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination.
We are committed to the redress of any inequalities by taking positive action where appropriate.
We are a Disability Confident Leader and welcome applications from disabled candidates. We are also seeking to diversify our workforce, particularly by gender and ethnicity.
As a Club, we describe our vision as 'Everything Together' and our associated values relate to the word 'Everything'. If your values align with ours, we would love to hear from you.
