Purpose
To deliver goods safely, efficiently, and compliantly to customers, operating a TWS HGV vehicle as instructed by Transport Planners or the Transport Director ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and company standards. The role focuses on providing excellent service, maintaining the integrity of transported goods, and upholding health and safety practices throughout the transportation process.
Role and Responsibilities
Safely operate a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to transport goods to specified locations.
Ensure customer's food safety requirements are met and any CCP's are controlled in the correct manner.
Carry out daily vehicle checks, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with regulations.
Load and unload goods, ensuring secure, hygienic and efficient handling in accordance with the drivers plan and check that the temperatures are correct at the tie of leaving the depot and arriving at your destination.
Ensure documents are checked and signed by customer at the time of delivery and handed in to Transport admin on returning to the yard.
Keep a record of any discrepancies and report to Transport Admin immediately.
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, arrive at customer depots, safely at the designated delivery time with the correct load and documents adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle checks, and any incidents.
Communicate effectively with the Transport Planning team, reporting delays or issues promptly.
Adhere to health and safety standards, including manual handling and vehicle maintenance procedures.
Keeping Tachograph infringements within scope of DCRS policy
Must notify the Transport Office of ANY changes to licence including: change of address, points / endorsements / health changes / medication which may affect driving
Role Requirements
Must have valid C+E category licence, valid DQC (Driver CPC Card) and valid Digital Tachograph
An effective communicator

14.50 per hour plus bonus for night and weekend work
Working days Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday or Sunday (Late evening starts to early morning)
