Duties

Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in compliance with road safety regulations. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at destinations. Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly for transit. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs of driving hours. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays. Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar large freight transport. Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV). Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics procedures. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently on the road. Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours of driving. Ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with clients and colleagues.
