We are seeking reliable and customer-focused Van Delivery Drivers to join our HGV driving Academy.
As a Lynas HGV Academy Driver, you will deliver our products from our warehouse to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the quality of our produce. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering and will prioritise customer satisfaction, safety, and adherence to delivery schedules.
As a Lynas Delivery Driver, you will be required to handle, unload and deliver a wide variety of frozen, chilled and ambient products to our customers whilst providing excellent customer service.
Running in parallel with your delivery duties, our in-house driver trainer will guide you through the (fully funded) pursuit of your Class C license and once obtained, you will graduate to a HGV delivery driver role.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving Duties
: Load, Secure, transport, and deliver goods to designated locations as per schedule. Drive company vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with UK Road Traffic Laws and working Time Directive Regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance
: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. Ensure the van is clean, fuelled, and in good working condition at all times. Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to the Transport Supervisor immediately.
Customer Service
: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns about their orders.
Health and Safety
: Always obey rules and regulations on roads. Safety conscious driving and handling. Follow SOPs when loading and unloading van. Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety procedures at all times.
Administrative Duties:
Accurately record temperatures of fridge/freezer unit. Accurately complete product returns sheets and invoices. Accurately count and record cash received from cash on delivery customers.
Training:
Complete and pass theory and hazard perception exams. Complete and pass Category C practical test. Complete and pass CPC module 2 exam and module 4 practical test.
Essential Criteria
Full UK Driving License (appropriate category for van type)
Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
Minimum 1 - 2 years manual handling experience.
Ability to work independently and handle goods safely.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
Good knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations
Strong attention to detail and good time management
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Capable of lifting and moving goods within manual handling limits
Fitness to pass regular medical and eyesight checks as required by DVLA
Reliable and punctual
Problem solving skills and adaptability
Ability to work in teams
