Job Description

Class 1 HGV Driver required to join our expanding trunking operation.

The trucks on our trunking operation are primarily tasked with servicing our own sites in England whilst Southbound and bringing freight north for our pallet distribution business while Northbound.

The drivers work on a 3 week rotation which consist of one week of 6 shifts and two weeks of 4 shifts and will always have two night outs per week away from home on each shift.
Saturday morning finish is the only weekend working we do, apart from during our Christmas dispatch period. Trunking routes are subject to change in line with business needs and volume changes, drivers will be given as much notice as possible.

All days away from home will be on SNAP truckstops, with absolutely no parking in laybys. We want to make sure our drivers at least have access to toilets and washing facilities while away from home and these sites should be more secure and safer for the driver.

Trunking is not our specialty and we have a small team of 7 Class 1 drivers, and we are in need of candidates who can work as part of a team and are happy to work with us in improving rota changes to suit our trunking team.

30 days holiday entitlement.

26 night away allowance.

Drivers are always on their own lorry and are expected to keep them clean and tidy, inside and outside.

Drivers are provided with uniform and PPE.
