is a family owned company based in North Chadderton and we are currently looking for reliable, experienced and professional
HGV Class 2 and Class 1 Hiab driver
to join our growing operation. We have several positions available with the option to work on an
employed or self employed basis, full time / part time. The part time position covers holidays and the general demands and needs of the business.
PLEASE NOTE - Current Hiab certification is required
. No more than 6 points on driving license and current driver CPC is essential.
Minimum of 2 years HGV DRIVING experience required.
Candidates are required to have a flexible approach regarding hours of work.
Flexibility on nights out are a MUST.

Duties
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, such as a truck or van, to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- Plan and follow designated routes, using GPS or other navigation tools as needed
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays encountered
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
Experience
- Previous experience as a commercial truck driver or delivery driver is preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures is a plus
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle maintenance and repairs is beneficial
- Experience driving different types of vehicles, such as vans or flatbed trucks, is essential.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with dispatchers, customers, and team members
- Strong driving skills and the ability to navigate various road conditions safely
- Ability to load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping and adherence to delivery schedules
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
