Job Description
R G Bassett & Sons is a long-established, forward-thinking family Business, which in 2022 celebrated 125 years in Transport. Through a combination of our own general haulage fleet, and our membership of the Palletforce network, we offer quality-assured road transport and palletised distribution services to our valued clients throughout the UK.
We are looking for an LGV Class 1 (C+E) Distance Driver to join our team, completing national general haulage deliveries and collections on a
Monday to Friday
basis (with occasional weekend work available). Start and finish times, and available nights out are based on customer requirements.This position will involve:
The completion of daily vehicle checks, and the reporting of defects, as applicable. Collection and delivery of goods to the required location, and obtaining proof of delivery. The application of appropriate load security. Liaison with the customer in a polite and professional manner. Working in accordance with Drivers Hours Regulations, the Company's Operating Procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
.In addition to our 14.13 per hour rate, drivers with an ADR qualification will receive a weekly allowance of 20, and a payment of 35+ will be made to Moffett drivers, in weeks where Moffett work is completed. The subsistence allowance for nights out is 26.
Total Earning Potential is between 35,000 and 50,000+ per year
, depending on the number of hours worked and nights out.All drivers are offered one module of funded Driver CPC training per year, and opportunities are available for additional training, including ADR and moffett licences.
