Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled weekend HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. Leaving on a Friday evening to run a trailer down to either Newcastle or Immingham docks and bring one back up . This will happen every weekend . The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency . You will have an ADR qualification and be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in good working condition. This role is crucial for our logistics operations and requires a dedicated individual who can manage their time effectively. Would be suitable for someone who`s just looking for weekend work or semi-retired. Our fleet is made up of brand new trucks.

Responsibilities

Operate a flatbed / curtain-sider lorry to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients at delivery points.

Requirements

Valid HGV driving licence with an excellent driving record. ADR qualification. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, particularly with flatbed / Curtain-sider lorries. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving large vehicles. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members. A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism on the road. you will be paid for a minimum of 10hrs a day even if you only do 8
