We are looking for a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team. If you are reliable, safety-conscious, and have experience in multi-drop delivery and collection, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities



Route:

Drive our routes, starting and ending at our site in Cardiff (route may be subject to change in accordance with business requirements). Plan and execute routes efficiently to meet delivery and collection schedules.

Multi-Drop:

Perform multiple drop-offs and pick-ups per day, ensuring customer expectations are met and all paperwork is accurately completed.

Vehicle Checks:

Conduct daily vehicle checks (pre-use and post-use) to ensure the lorry is roadworthy and compliant with legal and safety requirements. Report any faults or issues promptly to the Transport Manager.

Load Securing and Inspection:

Safely load and unload metalwork, ensuring loads are securely fastened to avoid movement or damage in transit. Inspect loads to ensure they match delivery and collection manifests.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow all health and safety procedures, particularly when loading/unloading and securing heavy metalwork. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Customer Service:

Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers. Maintain clear and courteous communication during deliveries and collections.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and expenses, including tachograph records and delivery notes. Ensure all paperwork is completed and signed correctly.

Overnights:

Be prepared for 2 nights out per week, ensuring compliance with driver rest regulations. A 25.00 allowance per night out is provided for expenses.

Take Care:

Exercise care when handling metalwork, especially items that have been galvanized, powder coated, or wet painted, to prevent damage.

Driving Regulations:

Adhere to all UK road traffic laws and transport legislation, including tachograph and working time regulations.

Requirements



Valid HGV Class 1 (C + E) license. CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card. Proven experience with multi-drop deliveries and collections. Strong knowledge of securing loads and transport regulations. Physical ability to assist with loading and unloading where required. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to follow a map when SatNav is not available. Professional and courteous attitude with good communication skills.

What We Offer



Weekly pay, every Friday (40,990.04 per year/757.95 per week). 25.00 per night out allowance (for 2 nights out per week). A supportive team and a respectful working environment that values hard work and reliability.
