Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and in time-efficient manner, while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to manage routes effectively.

MUST have walking floor experience.

"Nights out" are occasionally available if the workload requires.

You will be collecting loose and baled cardboard & paper, loose/bagged books and confidential waste from locations including but not limited to Oxford, Neath Port Talbot, Avonmouth, Bristol, Worthing, Swansea, Merthyr Tydfil; Andover and Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Responsibilities

Operate a curtain side and walking floor to transport goods from our customers' site back to our site in Llandow. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries. Occasionally unloading paper/cardboard bales with Forklift, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.

Skills

Proven experience as a Commercial Driver with a valid driving licence. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. Ability to work independently and make decisions on the road liaising with your immediate supervisor at all times and also liaising with the Main Office. A commitment to safety and compliance with all regulations Ability to operate other machinery for example Forklift is preferred but not essential for this role.

Rate of pay from 14.00 per hour DOE.
