Overview

Here at NMT Cranes we operate a fleet of 24 cranes from 40 to 300tonne and 3 mobile tower cranes 4 Heavy Haul HGV units and 1 hiab vehicle We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team mainly working alongside the crane opperations to deliver matts, tackle and heavy ballast for our lifting opperations, in a fleet of modern well equipped DAF trucks we travel nationwide to service our varied prestigious customer base .

The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills. , Experience with strapping, chaining and STGO transport is Advantageous , as you will be handling different types of heavy specialist cargo.

Great Rates of pay and fantastic overtime rates / weekend rates available. weekend shift bonus , minimum weekend pay rates.

Responsibilities

Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly for transport. Securing loads with chains Reading and adhering to movement orders Communicate effectively with dispatcher regarding routes, schedules, and any potential delays. Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations while maintaining high standards of customer service. Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents promptly.

Skills

Previous experience with multi axle and rear steering trailers No more then 6 penalty points with no DD DR or DG codes Whilst this is not a "tramping" Role some nights out are required and weekend availability a valid cpcs a40 slingers ticket would be advantageous Proven experience as a Driver in a similar role within the commercial driving sector. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods. Experience strapping and chaining large heavy loads Excellent navigational skills with familiarity of local routes. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping. Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong understanding on tacho hours and maximising tacho times
