PRL Logistics is a premier UK logistics company, delivering reliable and efficient transport solutions nationwide. Based in Doncaster, we operate a modern fleet and pride ourselves on exceptional service. We're seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers to join our dedicated team, supporting our long-haul operations.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver, you'll be responsible for long-distance haulage across the UK, staying out all week (Monday to Friday) with primarily afternoon starts. This role involves trunking, multi-drop deliveries, and handling various loads, including palletized goods, general haulage, and temperature-controlled freight.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles (articulated lorries, 44-tonne) safely and efficiently. Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting defects promptly. Deliver goods to distribution centers, warehouses, and retail locations across the UK. Ensure compliance with UK road regulations, tachograph rules, and Working Time Directive (WTD). Manage delivery schedules, maintaining accurate electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) records. Maintain professional communication with customers and the transport office. Adhere to health and safety protocols, including load securing and manual handling.

What We're Looking For

License & Experience

: Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with at least 2 years of commercial driving experience, including tramping.

Qualifications

: Valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.

Driving Record

: No more than 6 penalty points on license; no DD, DR, or IN endorsements.

Skills

: Strong understanding of UK road networks, route planning, and traffic regulations.

Availability

: Willing to tramp (stay out Monday to Friday) with afternoon starts (typically 12 PM - 4 PM).
