Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 HGV driver to join our team. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and a customer-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

Operate curtain sided lorries to transport steel sheet to customers safely and efficiently. Ensure all deliveries are made on time while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of deliveries. Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Supervising the load and unload of steel sheet as required, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transport. Follow all safety protocols to minimise risks while driving and handling goods.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with a clean driving record. Previous experience delivering steel sheet is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with curtain sided lorry operations is an advantage. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Forklift licence is preferred but not essential, to occasionally assist loading and unloading vehicles.
