HGV Class 1 lorry driver

No weekend work

No bank holidays

Overtime at time and a half

Day shifts 8am - 5.30pm typical

Regular customer drops throughout the South West

We require an HGV Class 1 lorry drivers to deliver pallets of bagged animal feeds and other goods to our customers from our base in Hatherleigh near Okehampton. The company's delivery area is mainly within Devon Cornwall Somerset and Dorset.

We have a limited number of customers and many have been customers for many years and so the working relationship is excellent.

Duties include the planning of efficient loads and delivery routes. To ensure your vehicle is kept clean inside and out, regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and all service schedules are adhered to.

You need to be physically fit as some lifting may be required.

The role requires that you hold a full HGV class C+E and the required CPC qualifications, flexibility is key to this role and you may be required to drive class 2 vehicles or van at certain times the following would be desirable but not essential:

Qualified to operate forklift vehicles would be an advantage

Well-motivated and flexible in meeting daily needs of the business.

Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.

Flexible with working hours to cover increase in workload and unexpected events.

Competitive basic salary. The job could be Part Time or Full Time to suit. Initially the job is for 3 months although may lead to a more permanent roll for the right candidate, and carries the usual additional benefits.
