Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV CLASS 1 Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. Candidates should possess a valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles, particularly flatbed lorries, and have previous experience in delivery driving.

Duties

Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations. Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for any mechanical issues or safety hazards. Secure cargo properly on flatbeds to prevent movement or damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays. Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed. Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times.

Experience

Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed lorries. Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK. Experience in operating flatbed trucks or similar large commercial vehicles is highly desirable. Familiarity with route planning tools and GPS navigation systems. Valid UK driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or equivalent certification. Demonstrated ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
