Class 1 Trunk Driver required to work from our Huntingdon. 41,179.20pa + Benefits. Required to work as part of a team that moves the stock from Huntingdon to alternate operational sites and stores the UK

Monday-Friday 5pm start (9/10 hour shifts)

The Role

Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and Cross Docks. Conduct a vehicle inspection at the start of each journey for mechanical items and safety issues and report any issues through the company defect policy Complete all documentation relating to the journey made and the products carrier correctly and accurately Plan your route to ensure your meet delivery schedules and that the most efficient route is taken at all times Comply with current legislation and regulation relating to the driving and operating of the vehicle Manoeuvre vehicles / trailers / de-mount boxes into loading or unloading positions and assist shunters at Cross docks if required Report any accident or incident in accordance with company guidelines Ensure vehicle digital tachographs are downloaded in line with current legislation To comply with procedures and processes to ensure the effective, efficient and professional operation of Transport operation Maintain driving licences, digital tachographs and Drivers CPC in line with current legislation To ensure the health and safety of Self, Customers and Colleagues is not at risk, by taking all reasonable steps to ensure safety in the workplace. To undertake prescribed training and development. To engage all external and internal customers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner ensuring that they are left with a lasting positive impression of our company.
What we are looking for

A valid C+E Licence A UK driving licence Cat C1. Valid driver's CPC DQ card Previous experience and understanding of using digital tachographs Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy items of furniture with manual handling experience Understanding of EU Driving legislation and tachograph law Desirable experience of using a PDA Please note that for insurance purposes you should be aged 18 years or over.
