Job Overview


SJP Transport are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable General haulage Class 1 "tramper" drivers for delivering nationwide for our Hull and surrounding area-based clients. Driving for SJP, comes with the responsibility for the delivery process, collection and tipping of loads, and ensuring all paperwork is correctly completed. We are seeking individuals who have attention to detail, with a punctual and professional approach to driving.

This job does involve working away from base Monday through to Friday each week.

We are seeking reliable and skilled Truck Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service, as well as the ability to manage various driving conditions.

Duties



Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations. Deliver goods to designated locations, maintaining accurate delivery records. Ensuring all paperwork is correctly completed in full (including CMR's). Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle/trailer to ensure it is in good working order. Load and unload cargo, deliveries when necessary. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times. Adhere to company policies regarding safety, security, and customer service. Maintain a professional image whilst driving and representing the company.

Requirements



Valid commercial driving licence (C+E ) is essential. Proven experience as a driver or in commercial driving is highly desirable, but not essential as additional training is provided. Familiarity with the operation of dock trailers and general haulage is desirable. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws is essential. Excellent understanding of the driver's hours and working time directive regulations is a must. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
