Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. This role is 4 afternoons shifts per week (Mon -Thu inc). The shift is 4pm until finish (approx 2am). The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to operate various types of vehicles while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Clean license and in date CPC required.

Duties

Operate lorries for the transportation of goods to designated locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety regulations. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road. Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving license (C+E or equivalent). Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. A good understanding of health and safety an drivers hours regulations.
