Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and dependable HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The role primarily involves collecting trailers from the Port of Immingham and delivering goods across the UK. Typical daily duties include one delivery and one collection before returning to the port. Most work is undertaken using curtain-sided trailers, and drivers must ensure all loads are secured correctly using straps and appropriate equipment.

This position is classed as tramping; however, on certain days drivers may park up at our depot in LS25.
Night-out allowance:

25 per night

(based on a 5-day shift = 4 nights out).

Key Responsibilities

Operate an HGV artic vehicle with curtain-sided trailer in a safe and professional manner. Ensure all loads are correctly secured using straps and other required securing equipment. Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries and collections. Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects immediately. Maintain accurate logs, delivery notes, and all required transport documentation. Communicate clearly with the operations team regarding schedules, delays, and any issues during transit. Adhere to all UK road safety regulations and company policies at all times. Support general vehicle upkeep to maintain roadworthiness and operational efficiency.

Experience & Requirements

Proven experience as a commercial or delivery driver, ideally with curtain-sided trailers. Strong understanding of UK driving regulations, safety standards, and load-securement procedures. Experience handling and securing cargo using straps or similar methods. Valid commercial driving licence (Category C+E preferred). A strong track record of punctuality, reliability, and professionalism. Familiarity with GPS systems or route-planning tools is an advantage.
