We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our small family owned and operated general haulage company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a curtainsider. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various routes while adhering to delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

Operate a curtain side lorry to transport goods to designated locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage and any incidents. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any potential delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company positively.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within the logistics industry. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy items and securing loads. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A good understanding of navigation systems or GPS technology is preferred.
