HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights

PM Starts around 1800

Overtime available at weekends when drivers hours allow 15.50 per hour basic rate + Bonuses Fuel Incentive bonus Weekly pay 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays Contributory Pension scheme Uniform Friendly Working Environment

Role Responsibilities

Predominantly Trunking Work and Occasional Collections/Delivery. Supervising or helping to load and unload goods Making sure loads are safely secured. Following traffic reports and changing your route if necessary Completing delivery paperwork and defect reporting. Thorough vehicle checking before each journey. Represents the face of the company You may also deal with basic maintenance, such as water top ups before and after journeys Cleaning of the cab internally and externally (depot facilities available)

Person Requirements

Class 1 licence is mandatory (C+E) Valid CPC and digital tacho card Minimum 2 years Class 1 driving experience required Less than 6 points on licence preferred (DR, DD, CD, TT not accepted) Excellent driving skills and road safety knowledge Able to meet the physical demands of the job eg loading/unloading, coupling/uncoupling, operating curtain-siders etc Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the business Safety conscious ensuring that personal, vehicle and load safety, and that of others, is a key priority. Polite and customer focused Pass internal driver assessment if one is required
