Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a refrigerated trailer, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of the cargo throughout the transport process. This role requires excellent driving skills and the ability to navigate various road conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate an articulated truck safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while considering road conditions and traffic patterns. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit. Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays or issues encountered on the road. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Experience

Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV licence is preferred, but not essential as full training given. Current Drivers CPC and Digi Card essential. Familiarity with delivery driver responsibilities and logistics operations is an advantage. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks. A commitment to providing exceptional customer service during deliveries.
