Job Description

Due to expansion, we are seeking an experienced HGV Recovery Vehicle Driver from our Corby area base in Islip/Thrapston, NN14

You will need to be able to commute to and from the base each day with your own transport. All Recovery vehicles are kept overnight in a secure compound. Please do not apply if your daily commute exceeds 30 mins.

If you have more than 1 year experience in automotive recovery, new car collection/delivery and creating electronic collection/delivery documents, we want to hear from you.

You will need to demonstrate that you are competent and experienced in driving and operating a recovery vehicle PLUS trailer, approx 60ft in length.

You will need to be an expert at securely fastening overwheel straps to the bed/trailer bed and are used to completing electronic collection/delivery documents. Extensive knowledge on compliance surrounding driving hours, breaks and rest periods is a must.

Overnight stays are required, so the right candidate will be used to working away from home on a frequent basis. UK wide Travel between Devon, Southampton, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and Derby is a daily route. Hotels are booked via the office. A 25.00 night out fee is applied to cover your sustenance.

VQS are the largest independent supplier of vehicle inspections in the UK. We operate nationally at client locations and provide full UK coverage with field-based inspections. Our inspect and collect service combines high quality costed inspections with a cost-efficient logistics service. We work with vehicle manufacturers, leading financial institutions, fleet and leasing businesses, and nationally recognised daily rental and car subscription operators and collect and deliver new and used vehicles to locations across the country from our offices and hubsites throughout the UK.

We're looking for experienced Recovery Vehicle Drivers to join our team to complete collections and deliveries for our fast-growing organisation. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver to a specified location on time and with accuracy.

If you have any vehicle Inspection or bodyshop background, that would be advantageous, but not essential.

What we offer:

150.00 per day

5 days per week (Mon - Fri)

Full Company Training

25.00 Night-out Payments where required (maybe twice per week)

What you'll need:

A minimum of 5 years UK driving experience

A minimum of 1 years Recovery Driving experience / truck and trailer

No more than 3 points on your licence

Aged 30+ for insurance purposes

Able to provide a basic DBS check within first 30 days (refunded)

How it works:

We operate a fleet of Iveco 5.6t Recovery Vehicles with Trailers.

- You will need a valid Driver CPC

- a valid Driver Tacho card

- a driving licence for one of the below Categories:

C1E Licence (without code 107) 12,000kg MAM

CE Licence, unlimited

Start date can be within 7 days
