Job Summary

My client are seeking skilled and reliable self employed lorry drivers to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. This role involves transporting goods using a fridge trailer, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road regulations and company policies.

Duties

Operate a lorry to transport food to various locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Some loading and unloading may be required, securing it appropriately for transport. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring the safety of yourself and others on the road. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with depots during deliveries.

Experience

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Valid driving licence (C+E) is essential. Experience with fridge trailers is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
