Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills, particularly with flatbed and commercial vehicles. The ideal applicant will have prior delivery driver experience and a valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles.

Responsibilities

Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations. Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while complying with road safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order. Secure cargo properly on flatbeds to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any issues encountered en route. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during operations. Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.

Qualifications

Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles, including flatbeds. Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role within a commercial driving environment. Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transportation. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members. Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and professionalism at all times.
