Job Purpose:

This position requires overnight stays, so flexibility and a commitment to travel are essential. You will be responsible for transporting, delivering, and positioning heavy machinery and equipment to various sites, ensuring safety and compliance at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

Safely operate a Class 1 HGV to transport heavy plant machinery, construction equipment, and other large loads to various destinations. Ensure all deliveries are made on time and within safety regulations. Perform daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, reporting any defects to the Transport Manager immediately to ensure constant compliance with regulations and company standards Safe loading, securing and transport of plant equipment and attachments Carry out delivery and collection checks on each load ensuring all aspects of the load are captured using tablet-based reporting system Follow all road safety regulations, weight restrictions, and legal requirements Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety procedures during transport and unloading. Maintain accurate delivery records, including timesheets, logs, and delivery confirmations. Ensure the vehicle and load are adequately secured for safe transit. Stay away overnight as required for long-distance hauls, adhering to company policies regarding accommodation and expenses. Communicate effectively with the transport manager, clients, and site personnel regarding any issues with routes or deliveries. Conduct any other duties as requested by the operations team

Skills and attributes:

Understanding of driver hours and tachograph regulations Previous experience in transporting heavy plant equipment is highly desirable. Good knowledge/understanding of loading and securing plant and construction equipment A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work. Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients and team members. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good attention to detail Good time management Good organisational skills

Essential Requirements and qualifications:

Right to work in the UK A valid Class 1 HGV license with a clean driving record. CPC qualification and Tachograph card.
