We are currently seeking a reliable and professional

HGV Class 1 Driver

to join our

small but growing general haulage and port operations business

. This is a

tramping role

, primarily Monday to Friday, with some

Saturday and Sunday work available

.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and responsibly across the UK. Carry out general haulage and port work in line with delivery schedules. Tramp Monday to Friday, with optional weekend work depending on demand. Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure any defects are reported promptly. Load and secure goods properly to prevent damage during transport. Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents. Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers. Uphold all safety, compliance, and company standards while on duty.

Requirements:

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence

, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card. Ideally 1 year+ experience driving Class 1 vehicles. Experience in general haulage or port/container work preferred. Comfortable with tramping and staying away during the week. Knowledge of driver hours and working time regulations. Strong navigation and time management skills. Positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
