The Role:
As a Class 1 Vehicle Collection Driver, you'll be responsible for collecting vehicles from various locations and safely loading/unloading them onto your truck using a vehicle winch when required. You will be expected to follow all relevant regulations regarding vehicle height, weight, and road safety. Before every journey, you'll accurately measure and record vehicle height using a measuring stick and cab height indicator.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect vehicles from client and customer locations
Load and offload vehicles using tilt & slide equipment
Ensure safe, compliant driving and loading practices
Communicate professionally with clients and customers
Accurately record vehicle height before journeys
Follow all legal and company driving regulations
What You'll Need:
A valid Class 1 Driving Licence
Digital Tachograph Card
Driver CPC Card
Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience
Previous recovery or car transporter experience is an advantage (full training provided)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Good attention to detail, with a safety-first mindset
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
