Hiring Class 1 Drivers

We are currently looking for Class 1 Drivers. Drivers must be prepared to have nights away.

: LGV C+E Driver

Reports to: Transport Manager/Traffic Planner

Pay Structure: Guaranteed basic salary 34,840 - 50 hours per week.

Paid breaks and paid parking.

Potential earnings 47,00pa including nights out & overtime.

Our Drivers do more than a 'driving job'. It's about ensuring our customers get the best impression of our organisation. You will be the 'face' of our business, not just a delivery driver.

All drivers are provided with top quality new vehicles, equipped with a fridge & microwave and a work phone. We operate a 1 driver 1 vehicle policy.

Essential Requirements:

High Levels of Health and Safety Standards.

Can do attitude.

Numerate and literate.

Current CPC.

Excellent verbal communication.

Ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co-Workers.

Diligent attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure.

Must be prepared to spend 4 to 5 nights away from home.

Must be aged over 21 for Insurance purposes (Newly Qualified Drivers Considered)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service.

Ensure that on arrival the delivery is safe to make and respect the customers property and follow all on site procedures.

Check goods off with Customers and obtain a signed proof of delivery (POD)

Drive the vehicle safely in accordance with the law.

Drive within the tachograph law and driver hour limits.

Look after the vehicle and load and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.

Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.

Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum.

Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company's accident reporting procedure.

Complete a vehicle and trailer daily inspection sheet and report and record any defects.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Standards of Performance and Health and Safety Policy.

Physical Demands:

Loading and unloading of goods from vehicles/trailers.

Coupling and uncoupling of trailers.

Opening and closing of curtains.

Use of ratchet straps to secure loads to the trailer.

Education and Experience:

Basic numeracy & literacy. Hold a clean driving licence and a current drivers qualification card.
