Job Title: HGV class 1 driver/shunter with mechanics knowledge

Job Summary:
We are looking for a particular class 1 driver. You need to work for our mechanics workshop. Delivering and fetching trucks and trailers to and from customers. But also to take for MOT'S and brake tests etc. So knowledge of HGV mechanics is a big part of this job. You Will have a knowledge of some HGV mechanics to be able to help the mechanics helping to mend trucks. You may not have NVQ level 3 in hgv mechanics but have some experience in mending trucks perhaps or at least been in the maintenance industry and are happy to work towards an IRTEC CERTIFICATE. If you are this person who wants to work Mon-Friday with overtime if necessary but never weekends. Who knows their way around a truck but still wants to keep their hand in driving locally/shunting then this is for you.

Duties:
- Safely operate and drive various types of trucks to transport vehicles within a 25 mile radius to and from customers and to MOT'S ETC. Bringing them in for service /repair
-be able to help with small mechanical duties.
- Have a pleasant 'can do' customer facing attitude.
-Perhaps want to work towards IRTEC
- Communicate with team members effectively.

-Valid CPC

-Clean driving license

- Knowledge of parts and ordering parts - getting the best quotes. Working with suppliers and contractors effectively.

- have some experience in a mechanical setting. Working on trucks

- At least 1 year as a hgv driver.

- can do Manual entry tacho's

- comply with all around vehicle checks.

- health and safety conscious

-COSHH an advantage but willing to be trained in.

- a little paperwork and computer input skills
- Adhere to company policies and procedures

- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations

- Strong customer service skills
