About us

Cheshire Haulage (part of Cheshire Waste Skip Hire Ltd) is a small family business based in Backford, Chester.

We operate artic bulk tippers carrying Animal Feed & Aggregates mainly covering the North West.

TASCC & FORS registered company.

We are looking for a HGV Driver to join our team.

Experience and an MPQC (EPIC) card would be a benefit but not essential.

Hours average around 60+ per week.

Nights out 25.00 non-taxable pay.

Paid Weekly.

All trailers are fitted with electronic sheets, and hand held weigher in the cab.

All vehicles are fitted with inverters in the cab for drivers convenience.

One driver per vehicle and trailer, only changing over vehicles due to maintenance requirements.

Duties:

- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- Complete daily driver walkaround checks and complete a digital defect report
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members

Experience:

- Valid commercial driver's license for Class 1 (C+E) - Valid Digital Tachograph - Valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) - Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for operating commercial vehicles
- Ability to navigate using GPS or other routing systems
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
