Hgv Class 1 Walking Floor Driver
Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced class 1 Walking floor driver with Aggregate experience preferably but not essential. Working in and around Yorkshire for our Heidelberg contract in and out of quarries, concrete plants and building sites. MPQCC card preferred but again training can be given for the right person. You must be fully coherent in tachograph laws and hold a current driver cpc. In return we offer full time weekly paid work, company pension, 28 days holiday including stats, average hours holiday pay PPE and good quality truck. Keeping the truck clean, paperwork and excellent timekeeping are essential. Very early starts ( circa 0430 - 0500 ) so if you are not willing to start early please dont apply, average 50-60 hours per week.
Duties
Operate a lorry to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items on trailers. Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Communicate effectively with managers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry.
Requirements
Valid commercial driving licence (class 1) Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role. Familiarity with all transport operations is preferred. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
