Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries. Most deliveries are palletized but some handball may also be required.

Responsibilities

Operate and drive commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, for the delivery of goods. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately to prevent damage during transit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies and regulations. Comply with all traffic laws and regulations while on the road. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally. Report any vehicle maintenance needs or issues promptly to management.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating lorries. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is advantageous. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving. Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
