Job Overview

Well established, growing family business seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtainsided vehicles and palletised tailift deliveries, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. This role involves transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the stock. The job is 4 shifts Tuesday-Friday delivering pallets to retail stores. (Start time could be Monday-Thursday as it will be nights)

I did the job personally for 10 years, and personally enjoyed the work, same routes on the same days every week meant after a while I could plan down to the minute and with some flexibility with start times (drivers are key holders to the store), was able to find the sweet spot for each runs to make them quick and efficient.

Responsibilities

Operate curtain sided lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip m inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, particularly with 18T vehicles. Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record. Ability to use electric pump trucks and lift empty pallets for collections. Good organisational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with myself.
