Duties

Operate skip lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies. Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours. Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays. Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed lorries. Valid driving licence suitable for operating large vehicles (Category C or equivalent). Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to operate flatbed trucks with precision and care. Strong organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently. Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members. A clean driving record is preferred, along with a commitment to safe driving standards.
