Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of drivers responsibilities and traffic regulations, vehicle mechanics, use of PDAs, excellent time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and our operations team.

We are open to individuals who may be semi-retired or returning to work who would be happy to work with us on weekends, cover holidays and /or support on peak days in the week such as Tuesday through to Thursday.

Duties

Operate a Rigid between 18T - 26T vehicle for deliveries, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations. Check your daily runs and plan in advance to ensure smooth transit of the freight, reporting back on any unforeseen issues in advance. Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transport and that weight is distributed appropriately. Communicate with operations, warehouse and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Perform daily routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including basic for troubleshooting minor issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any discrepancies encountered during transport. Assist in the warehouse as needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods. Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained at all times.

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with appropriate category for Class 2 Previous experience as a driver or in a similar role is preferred. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members. Basic to assist with vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment. A professional attitude towards work and commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Pay: 12.75-13.75 per hour
